Scrapbooking
As a child, I remember scrapbooking all my holidays. Later, in high school, I choose to place it on a shelf never to be touched again. Fast forward 9 years and I have pulled out my BIG box to find a new love with my art gear.
What I love most about scrapbooking is the ability to pull colours, stickers, and words together to create something beautiful that represents my mind's mess. Only, this time I see it in order and sequence outside my mind to help bring my imagination ALIVE.
Scrapbooking is quite a personal experience for me as I delve into topics that I need clarity on, for others it can be a reignition of a memory that was once created.
Some things I have recently scrapbooked on include:
The topic, Who am I? Here I place my name in the middle of the page and highlight my strengths, interests and values.
What I am in control of in life and what I am not in control of in life to focus my energy on the areas I can change and improve vs wasting my time and energy.
Where I am going with my work is based on my interests, passions, and daily life schedule.
What I need/desire/stand for in a partnership, although this turned into a journal dot point note instead.
You could also get into the scrapbooking game and have a little fun with it!
You could also scrapbook on these areas/topics:
Holidays
Friends
Special memories
Words you value/want to incorporate more into your life
Dreams, goals, and ambitions.
All in all, scrapbooking is just play! I suggest that when you scrapbook, start with a word, image, or topic. Then grab some textures, stickers, coloured paper, or magazines and arrange these in a fun way on a piece of blank paper.
